CIRCUMFERENCE:
Start at the middle of your hairline at the forehead and hold
the tape firmly against your head. Lay the tape around your head to the nape
hairline (behind the ears), below the bone at the base of your head, and back
around the head to the front. Pull tape snug. This measurement is the circumference
of the head.
FRONT TO
BACK:
Starting at
the middle of your front hairline, hold the beginning of the tape at this point
and place the tape down the middle of
the head to back nape area, about one inch below the occipital bone (at the base
of the skull). This is the front-to-back
measurement of the head.
TEMPLE TO
TEMPLE:
Hold beginning of tape at one
side of the head, right at the temple area (usually level with the slit of the
eye but back at the temple area). Slide tape across front hairline tightly until
it reaches the opposite side of the head, exactly at the same spot as where the
other side began. This is the temple-to-temple
measurement.
Toupees:
Toupees
are not just for men only anymore. Today, women are suffering from hair loss and
have developed some of the same patterns of baldness. If your hair loss is
greater than 70%, even if you are not completely bald, you may want to consider
a toupee. Below are some directions for making a custom template for your
toupee:
1.
Cover your scalp with plastic wrap, twisting ends to tighten over your scalp.
2.
Apply 3 layers of tape starting from front to back, then across from side to
side, ending up with the top layer of tape going in the direction from front to
back, over the plastic wrap to keep the form in place.
3.
Using a wax pencil, or any type of ink that will not smear, draw a line on the
plastic wrap that goes around your hairline.
4. Draw your hair pattern & part.
Apply another layer of tape to protect your drawing, then remove the
"template" from your head.

5. With scissors, trim off the excess wrap
along your hairline.
6. Carefully place your template into a
large padded envelope, taking care not to fold or bend it and mail it to:
